Editors' Notes

You may notice a few changes as you "leaf" through our "pages" this month. If we can be said to actually have any rules, I think we broke most of them with our third issue. Certainly, we're using a different formula this time around.

Our main environmental feature this month blossomed into a full-fledged, whole-issue theme. Alternative energy, we discovered, was far too big to fit into a single article, even as a main feature. As such, we broke it down into its many pieces, and wrote full articles on the individual types. It's fitting, really, because to truly solve our energy crisis, it will take a combination pulling from all areas of alternative energy. There is no single right answer, right now.

The music side of things also holds a few surprises this month. If you glance through the features and reviews and think, "I've never heard of any of these folks before," then you're likely not alone. You may have heard a track or two from the CDs we're reviewing, but it's unlikely most of our readers have heard of The Buddhahood or Natascha Sohl. They're both small artists, still focussed mainly on their respective local scenes. Even still, they have a lot to offer, and I urge you to check out our interviews with them and the tracks they've submitted for download.

One other small detail worth noting is, in fact, the new In The News section. This was formerly known as "Ups and Downs," but I changed its name because it was difficult to maintain a decent balance. The "downs" are always going to be the same sorts of problems, but the "ups" are generally new innovations to deal with those problems. As such, I've changed the format a bit to just highlight noteworthy happenings in the world of music and/or environmentalism.

Thanks for returning for a third time! Remember, we always welcome you to give us feedback, to spread the word about the magazine, and/or to donate to the site as you are able. And if you haven't yet, check out our store at Cafe Press, for more ways you can help spread the message of The Green Room!
